Maxwell High School of Technology, in collaboration with SkillsUSA and partners Lowe’s, State Farm, and Constellation, will host an event on May 7 to honor students pursuing careers in skilled trades. Ten students from the Flight Operations Pathway will be recognized for their commitment as they sign letters of intent to enter skilled career paths. These students will also take part in the Lowe’s Foundation “Trades Stars” national campaign.

The Trades Stars initiative aims to celebrate these students by providing them with "Blue Carpet Experiences," where they will be interviewed, photographed, treated like celebrities, and featured in social media posts.

Dr. Jeff Hall, principal of Maxwell High School of Technology, expressed gratitude for community support: “We want to thank our community for supporting SkillsUSA National Signing Day.” He added that the program acknowledges the dedication of career and technical education students and highlights the value of skilled career pathways. Dr. Hall emphasized that events like Signing Day and the Trades Stars campaign help enhance the perception of skilled careers by showcasing the opportunities available to students both personally and professionally.
