Georgia State Superintendent to honor Gwinnett County schools for math and literacy excellence

Georgia State Superintendent Richard Woods is set to visit Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) on Thursday, March 13, at 9 a.m. The purpose of the visit is to recognize schools for their achievements in literacy and math. The event will take place at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center located at 437 Old Peachtree Road, NW, in Suwanee, Georgia.

During the ceremony, 12 schools will be honored as Literacy Leader Schools and 50 schools will be recognized as Math Leader Schools by the Georgia Department of Education. These distinctions are awarded to schools that have shown significant progress in reading proficiency and excellence in mathematics instruction and student performance.

Woods' visit underscores GCPS's dedication to providing high-quality education in literacy and mathematics. It also highlights the district's mission to offer rigorous learning experiences that prepare students for future success. By focusing on effective instructional practices and student achievement, GCPS continues to uphold high educational standards.
