Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is encouraging families to submit applications for students to qualify for free and reduced lunch. The district is part of a federal initiative known as the Special Assistance Alternative Provision 2. This program allows schools or districts to provide meals at no charge to all students, though it will only apply to breakfast, not lunch.

A list of participating schools has been released, including numerous elementary, middle, and high schools. Notably, all students at these schools will receive breakfast without charge under Provision 2. However, meal prices for lunch will be determined based on student eligibility.

The list of participating elementary schools includes Alcova, Ferguson, Norcross, Alford, Graves, North Metro Academy of Performing Arts, among others. Middle schools include Berkmar, Lilburn, Shiloh, Dacula, Moore, Snellville and others. High schools listed are Berkmar, McClure Health Science, Paul Duke STEM and more.

Additionally, special entities such as GIVE Center East and West and the International Transition Center are also included in this program.

In accordance with federal civil rights law and USDA regulations and policies, GCPS ensures non-discrimination on various grounds including race, color, national origin and sex. Information about the program may be available in multiple languages. Individuals with disabilities who need alternative communication methods can contact relevant agencies or USDA’s TARGET Center.

To report discrimination related to the program, individuals should complete Form AD-3027 or write a letter detailing the alleged violation. These complaints can be submitted via mail to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights in Washington D.C., by fax or email.
