Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is set to host its 13th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, October 14, at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. The event is organized by the GCPS Community-Based Mentoring Program and aims to raise funds for scholarships, college and career exploration, internships, and discounted enrichment activities for students.

The registration fee for the tournament is $150 per person or $600 per foursome. This fee includes breakfast, entry into both the Hole In One Contest and the Longest Drive Contest, as well as an awards luncheon. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting various student programs.

James Rayford, Director of Community-Based Mentoring at GCPS, expressed enthusiasm about this year's event: “We are excited to bring back the 13th annual golf tournament and hope to exceed our previous record number of golfers of 116 in 2022. This event allows us to continue to build community, connection, and belonging one relationship at a time.” He also highlighted that it presents "a great opportunity to recruit new mentors and supporters of the program."

Participants are advised to dress appropriately for weather conditions as the tournament will proceed rain or shine unless deemed dangerous. A dress code requiring collared shirts will be enforced. Interested golfers should register by September 30, 2024. Those unable to participate can still support by making donations through the Golf Tournament Wish List.
