Gwinnett County Board of Education meetings are scheduled annually in January, typically taking place on the third Thursday of each month. These meetings occur at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center in Suwanee and start at 7 p.m. They are open to the public, with the exception of executive sessions. Citizens of Gwinnett County are encouraged to attend these meetings to gain insight into the school system's operations and programs.

The remaining meetings for 2024 are set for July 25, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21, and December 19. The meeting dates for 2025 will be decided during the January meeting next year.

Citizens wishing to speak at a Board meeting must inform the Superintendent’s Office by noon on the Wednesday before the meeting using a Request Form available on the district’s website. Upon completing this form, individuals will receive a notification. Each month allows for up to 30 speaker slots with an additional 15 alternate requests accepted if any initial speakers cancel by 5 p.m. the day prior to the meeting.

For those needing interpretation services when addressing the Board, it is advised they sign up by Monday of that week so their request can be accommodated. Suggestions for agenda items can be made by any Board member, staff member, or citizen. The agenda is posted online by noon on Monday of each meeting week.

Communication with School Board members can also be done via email at MySchoolBoard@gcpsk12.org.
