Gwinnett County Public Schools introduces new principals for 2024-25 school year

Dr. Mary Kay Murphy Board Member District III | Gwinnett County Public Schools

As students and teachers in Gwinnett County return from their summer break, they will be greeted by new leadership at several schools. Five new principals have been appointed to guide educational institutions for the 2024-25 academic year.

The newly appointed principals are as follows:

Israel "Tony" A. Patiño has taken on the role at Cedar Hill Elementary School. Dr. Kenyada M. Jackson is now leading Couch Middle School, while Tyese M. Scott has assumed the position at Creekland Middle School.

Robert W. Maffeo is the new principal of Discovery High School, and Cynthia “Cindy” Kinchen will head Duluth High School. At Duluth Middle School, Dr. Jimmie L. McKinley has been named principal.

Jennifer M. Redd steps into her role at Harris Elementary School, and Courtney Murphy-Bernardo takes charge of McKendree Elementary School. Dr. Katoria B. Gaston is now leading Norton Elementary School.

Capucina “Cappy” Douglass has become the principal of Shiloh High School, with Dr. Tiffany N. Brown overseeing Shiloh Middle School.
