Gwinnett County Board appoints five new school principals

During its monthly meeting on June 20, 2024, the Gwinnett County Board of Education approved the appointment of five new principals for various schools in the district.

Dr. Jimmie L. McKinley has been appointed as the new principal at Duluth Middle School. He is currently serving as Assistant Principal at McClure Health Science High School. Dr. McKinley takes over from Cindy Kinchen, who is now the principal at Duluth High School.

Jennifer M. Redd will be taking on the role of principal at Harris Elementary School. She is presently an Assistant Principal at Chattahoochee Elementary School and replaces Dr. Erin A. Hahn, a Cluster Superintendent.

Courtney Murphy-Bernardo has been named the new principal at McKendree Elementary School, where she was previously an Assistant Principal at Harbins Elementary School. She succeeds Tyese M. Scott, who serves as principal at Creekland Middle School.

Dr. Katoria B. Gaston steps into her new position as principal of Norton Elementary School after working as an Assistant Principal at Cooper Elementary School. She follows Melanie Lee, who accepted a job in another school district.

Finally, Dr. Tiffany N. Brown assumes leadership as the new principal of Shiloh Middle School while currently holding a similar position at Hollis Innovation Academy within Atlanta Public Schools.
