Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is set to host the 2024 Gwinnett Readers Rally at Peachtree Ridge High School on Saturday, February 24. This annual event, recognized as a major reading event in the county, will involve participation from 87 schools spanning various levels and clusters.

Students have spent eight months studying ten selected books that represent modern children's literature. High school teams will engage with titles nominated for the Georgia Peach Award for Teen Readers. Meanwhile, elementary and middle schools will focus on a list of ten recommended books chosen by a committee of GCPS media specialists, teachers, and parents.

The rally will feature teams from each school competing in a quiz-bowl-style format to test their knowledge of the selected books. Winners from each division will move on to the division championship, which is scheduled to be televised by GCPS TV on Tuesday, March 5.

Approximately 1,500 attendees are expected at this event aimed at promoting literacy and fostering community engagement.
