Peachtree Ridge High School is set to host the 2024 GCPS Career Expo and Job Fair on Saturday, March 2. This event provides students with the chance to interact with professionals from various industries, offering insights into potential career paths. The event, which is recognized as the largest student-focused gathering at the school, will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., featuring participation from 20 organizations and 165 students.

The schedule includes vendor booths available for students and families from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., providing an exploratory opportunity. Participating organizations include Buford US Army Career Center, Independent Electrical Contractors, Clayton State University - Film, Communication & Performing Arts, Insulators & Allied Workers #48, Georgia Gwinnett College, Maxwell Tech, Georgia Power, McKenney’s, Georgia Student Finance Commission, Mechanical Contractors Association of Georgia, Grayson Tech, MetroPower Electrical Contractors and Inc., Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and Fire and Emergency Services among others.

Additionally, technical assistance for FAFSA completion will be offered by partners at Georgia Gwinnett College and Georgia Student Finance Commission in the Media Center Computer Lab during the same hours.

Breakout sessions in the Media Center are scheduled as follows:

- From 9:50 a.m. to 10:10 a.m., Dr. Kyle Jones from the Office of College & Career Development will discuss "Career Pathways & Certifications while in HS."

- From 10:20 a.m. to 10:40 a.m., Dr. LaVonna Groce of Maxwell Tech will present "Career Pathways at Maxwell Tech."

- From 10:50 a.m. to 11:10 a.m., Reta Elder of Grayson Tech will cover "Career Pathways at Grayson Tech."

- From 11:20 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., Joanna Key & Kimberley Geter from the Office of Counseling, College & Career will talk about "Tools to Help Students Explore Careers."

Parking is available at the back of Peachtree Ridge High School's building with events taking place in the front entrance cafeteria.
