Gwinnett BOE appoints new principal for Shiloh High

At its meeting on January 18, 2023, the Gwinnett County Board of Education approved the appointment of a new principal for Shiloh High School. Capucina Douglass has been named to the position, replacing Dr. Danyel Dollard, who is retiring.

Douglass is currently serving as the principal at Couch Middle School. Her career in education includes roles such as assistant principal at Grayson High School from 2018 to 2019 and Couch Middle School from 2012 to 2016. She also worked as a teacher leader at Shiloh Middle School between 2006 and 2012.

Before her current role, Douglass was the principal at Hilsman Middle School in Clark County School District from 2019 to 2023 and Social Circle Middle School in Social Circle City Schools during the 2016-2017 school year. Earlier in her career, she taught at Bullard Havens High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Wallace Middle School in Waterbury, Connecticut. From 1992 to 2002, she worked as a social worker with the Department of Children and Families in Connecticut.

Douglass holds a bachelor's degree in General Studies from Post College, a master's degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport, and a specialist degree in Education from Georgia State University.
