Atlanta Falcons player Kyle Pitts recently visited Jordan Middle School to support and motivate students in Gwinnett County. The Power Play Academic Pep Rally, backed by the Kyle Pitts Foundation and local businesses, aimed to celebrate the students' achievements in their first semester and inspire them to excel academically.

The gymnasium at Jordan Middle School was filled with enthusiasm as Pitts, along with teammates Mack Hollins and Van Jefferson, cheerleaders, and Freddie Falcon, engaged with the students and staff. The event was attended by Lawrenceville Mayor David Still and Dr. Judy Jordan Johnson, after whom the school is named. Sponsors included McCrays, Golden Locks Brokerage, Marcus The Visual Productions, Headquarters Barbershop, and Papa John’s Pizza of Lawrenceville. It was broadcast live on Closed Caption television throughout the school. Selected students who met academic and behavioral standards were invited to attend in person.

During the rally, students had opportunities to win prizes such as gaming chairs, PS5 accessories, Coach bags, and Beats by Dre headphones for their dedication to the SHIELD PBIS behavior model. Principal Melissa Miller expressed pride in her students' accomplishments: “I am so proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff,” she said. “It's thrilling to have the community come in and recognize our students’ success. I look forward to all the amazing things in store for Jordan and the Central Gwinnett Cluster.”

Teachers were also acknowledged during the event with a lunch treat and chances to win signed Falcons jerseys, footballs, and tickets to an upcoming Falcons game against the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas Eve.
